It’s another Tuesday and here’s another quick raw food recipe to add to your day.
What you’ll need:
1/2 cabbage head
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup dalandan/lime juice
1/4 cup basil, chiffonade
5 cloves garlic
Mix all the ingredients and massage until juice comes out of the cabbage. Serve immediately for a Cabbage Salad. Or place in a glass jar and let sit for 1 to 4 days to ferment then refrigerate and you have sauerkraut!
Here are some of the health benefits of sauerkraut and eating raw cabbage:
- It helps with digestion and helps heal damage to digestive tract.
- It improves bowel health and improves immunity.
- With proper balance of good bacteria and enough digestive enzymes, the body is able to absorb more nutrients from the food that you eat.
- Studies say that raw cabbage is good for cancer prevention. Cooking damages some cancer preventive properties.
