I have always been conscious of the food that I eat.  I became vegetarian in 2005 primarily for health reasons or dietary or maybe trying-to-lose weight reasons.  It was soon after I read my first yoga book wherein the author recommended that I go on a vegetarian diet for a month and then try eating animals again.  Of course after a month of vegetarian diet I didn’t want to eat animals again.  I just felt so light and it helped me with my yoga practice.  Bonus of course is I became so much skinnier, which then was my definition of a healthy me.

detox8From being vegetarian, I turned vegan while working for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).  The yoga practice got deeper and so did the vegetarian lifestyle.

Soon after I got introduced to green smoothies (mainly just any greens and mango) and different detox programs.  I tried them all—coconut fast, master cleanse, GM diet…

detox10Come 2013, I attended raw food classes with Jonny Freesh in Bali and got even more into raw food.  I just know it’s good for me.  I started teaching soon after and in 2014, I finally made the decision to attend Pure Joy Culinary Academy’s raw food chef and health educator certification with world renowned chef Elaina Love.  There I learned more about raw food, more dishes, and most especially I learned about green juicing and liver flushing which to this day I consider one of the best detox or cleanse I have done.  I’m not sure if it’s because it was in Bali but I didn’t feel like I was depriving myself.  I knew I was cleansing because I love my body and I love to keep it healthy.

Allow me to share to you and take you in this magical ride with raw food and cleanse.

 

 

Raw Food Classes

I teach raw food classes once a month, usually the 3rd or 4th Saturday.  In each class, I share five simple raw dishes using just a blender and a food processor.  I often refer to these recipes as my 5-minute recipes.  Of course some dishes take longer than five minutes to prepare but the idea is to enjoy everyday and easy-to-prepare yet gourmet tasting raw vegan dishes.

Dishes include simple raw food or international dishes.  We can alter the recipes depending on your dietary requirements.

I also teach private raw food classes.  You just have to book two weeks in advance.

detox7Having tried different detox or cleanse programs, let me guide you in your journey to healthy living.

The program may run for a week or a year depending on your needs.  There is no one rule or one program that suits all.  We will base the program on your needs and how much time you’re willing to invest on it.  It’s not just about food, it’s total lifestyle overhaul.
